Can I fit the EMS10 Water Softener myself?
The softener plumbs into your incoming mains and needs a drain connection for regeneration, so it's more involved than a push-fit filter. A confident DIYer can fit it with the right kit, but many customers prefer a plumber.

Can you drink softened water?
Yes. Softened water is suitable for drinking and cooking. The EMS10 Water Softener removes the calcium and magnesium minerals that cause hard water and replaces them with a very small amount of sodium through the ion exchange process.
If you're preparing infant formula or have been advised to follow a low-sodium diet, we recommend using an unsoftened cold water tap or filtered drinking water instead.

A water softener does not remove chlorine or improve the taste and odour of your drinking water.
