These units filter out up to 99% of chemicals found in tap water by forcing tap water through a semi-permeable membrane that removes 90-99% of tap water impurities. Why do I need RO water ?
Tap water often contains impurities that can cause problems when added to an aquarium. These include phosphate, nitrate, chlorine, and various heavy metals. High levels of phosphate and nitrate fuel aggressive algae growth, and copper, often present in tap water due to leaching from pipes, is highly toxic to invertebrates. Because RO filters remove practically all of these impurities, they are becoming more popular among aquarists, particularly marine hobbyists.

(Stage 1) 5 Micron Sediment Filter :
With only five micron rating. It is effective in removing dirt, rust and sand particles.
(Stage 2) Carbon Block Filter:
It takes out 99% of the chlorine and organic chemicals. It provides enhanced reduction of taste, odor, and color. Protect and prolong the life of membrane.
(Stage 3) 1 Micron Sediment Filter :
With only One micron rating. It is effective in removing dirt, rust and sand particles
and any impurities that remain from stages 1 and 2
(Stage 4) Reverse Osmosis Membrane:
A thin film composite (TFC) high quality membrane that processes 100 gallons per day. It removes the following
hard water contaminants that may be present in your water: lead, cooper, barium, chromium, mercury, sodium, cadmium, fluoride, nitrite, nitrate, and selenium.
